Last garden entry at 3 PM

We recommend arriving at Mayfield as soon as we open at 9 am, to allow yourself time to visit the garden. You won’t believe the beauty and the scale of the garden until you’ve visited. The last entry into the garden is 3 PM; so please ensure that you arrive before this time to avoid disappointment.

Mobility-friendly

Mayfield has gone to great lengths to make the garden mobility friendly with many new handrails, and paths installed to connect areas of the garden. The Mobility-Friendly Camellia Walk opened in August 2018, providing a mobility path for wheelchairs, prams, and those who would like to avoid stairs and boardwalks.

Dog-friendly

Mayfield is dog-friendly! But please note, your furry friend must be kept on a leash at all times and guided by you. We provide doggy bowls at the Cafe, but you must bring your doggy bags. For glampers, unfortunately we don’t allow dogs to stay overnight.

What to bring

We recommend wearing closed walking shoes and dressing for the weather which might mean bringing a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and an umbrella. Always bring a jumper or coat, Mayfield is located 1000m above sea level and the weather can turn quickly. We feel that the European style weather we sometimes experience in Oberon sits comfortably with our garden - don’t let a little rain, mist or snow get in the way of a good tramp - we love the cooler weather here, just dress appropriately and finish the day with a glass of wine or a hot drink in our restaurant. Don’t let the weather stand in the way of exploring this beautiful garden!

Garden Restaurant

The Garden Restaurant is open from 9 AM, serving our fresh, seasonal menu until 3 PM, with coffee, tea, snacks and other refreshments available up until 4:30 PM. Our restaurant also offers takeaway options. We strongly suggest that you book a table in advance.

Picnics

You are more than welcome to bring food and enjoy a picnic in the garden. You can also pre-order a picnic and collect it on arrival.

Rubbish management

There are no bins within the garden areas. Help keep Mayfield beautiful and return all rubbish to the retail area located near the car park for recycling or disposal.

Locals discount

Mayfield offers a 50% locals discount for admission to Mayfield Garden. It is available to our closest neighbours in Oberon, Bathurst, Lithgow and surrounding villages. Some exclusions apply, including our seasonal festivals.

Commercial photo & film

Mayfield welcomes commercial photographers and film directors to our stunning garden location. Whether you’re looking for a unique backdrop for family portrait photography or a new movie shoot, Mayfield offers affordable rates for special access to shoot or film across the garden. With Mayfield opening our gates to photographers and filmmakers, there is no reason to limit yourself to a studio. Contact our Events team on (02) 6336 3131 or info@mayfieldgarden.com.au for a quote and further information.
