Mayfield Garden is one of the largest privately owned cool
climate gardens in the world. You might not have heard much
about it yet but all that is about to change.
It is nestled
within a 5000 acre working farm near Oberon in the Central
West Tablelands of New South Wales.
Initially, work on Mayfield
Garden was quite modest in scale but as tends to happen with
gardens,it grew...and grew...and grew. Still very much a work
in progress, there is nonetheless a maze, an oak forest, a
walled potager, an 80 metre cascade that tumbles down the hillside,
extensive parterre gardens...you really have to see it to believe
it.
We always knew that we were creating something very special
at Mayfield Garden. What we came to realise was that it really
needed to be shared.
So, with that in mind, we set aside 36
acres next to the existing garden, embarked on a whole new
phase of the garden's evolution and after four years of construction
we are about to reveal the heart of this exciting new project
- a 6 acre water garden.
The water garden, with its winding paths and children’s discovery area,
will be the centre piece of exciting future developments at
Mayfield Garden that will include a garden shop, retail nursery,
garden design centre and café.
What makes our spring and autumn open weekends so special is you have chance to wander through the entire garden, experiencing the colours and growth of two vibrant seasons.
Come and be a part of the Mayfield journey.
